With the introduction of Integrated Motion on EtherNet/IP, Rockwell Automation becomes the first automation supplier to provide integrated motion control on standard EtherNet, allowing you to use a single network for complete machine control. There’s no need for a dedicated motion network. No proprietary hardware or software. No requirements for non-standard EtherNet infrastructure. Just EtherNet/IP - the same network used by a large and growing number of business, commercial and industrial devices - connecting the entire enterprise including VFD and servo drives.
These new products enable a single network architecture for I/O, HMI, VFD and servo drives, IT - and any other EtherNet/IP device:
- RSLogix™ 5000 version 18 enhancements include integrated motion on EtherNet/IP, unicast I/O messaging, data access control capabilities, High Integrity Add-On Instructions (AOIs), DF1 radio modem protocol broadcast support, and support for new controllers and modules.
- Kinetix® 6500 EtherNet/IP servo drive is the first high-performance servo drive to leverage embedded EtherNet/IP technology for precise integrated motion control, eliminating the need for a dedicated motion network. The Kinetix 6500 offers safety options which help protect personnel and improve productivity by increasing machine uptime.
- Dual Port ArmorBlock® EtherNet/IP products mount anywhere on a machine for shorter cable runs and lower wiring costs. EtherNet/IP modules offer premier integration into Integrated Architecture™ with full AOIs in RSLogix 5000 so no other configuration software is needed.
